If you want to make an impact in your interview, it is essential that you feel good about yourself by wearing the right outfit. Dress to impress! These 7 dress code tips will help you be prepared and stylish:
1. Prepare and do your research!
Each sector and every company has a specific dress code. View photos on the website, talk to staff from the organisation or from the sector. Is the dress code there business formal, rather business casual or perhaps even just casual?
2. Choose an outfit that makes you feel comfortable and look energetic.
If you feel good, you'll come across as assertive, and this will allow you to focus on the content of your interview.
3. When it comes to style, less is more.
Avoid extreme use of colour and never combine more than three colours. Go for neutral colours like dark blue, grey, brown or black. They project an image of reliability and professionalism.
4. Accessories add value to your outfit.
Jewellery, scarves, belts... they make a classic outfit trendy and allow you to affirm your personality. But be careful not to overdo it!
5. Don't forget the little details.
Clean shoes (with heels), manicured nails, matching jewellery… they confirm that you can see the big picture and they complete your look.
6. Choose a neat haircut, use make-up in moderation and go easy on the perfume.
