As a project consultant, you often work in different departments as an all-round assistant. So you can end up in HR, sales, marketing, customer service, finance, legal,… you name it. I'm currently immersing myself in the field of customer service. In this field, of course, the customer with all of their questions lies at the centre, but the work doesn't stop there. After-sales service is also a large part of my duties. Exactly how I should perform those tasks depends on the employer and the project. This allows me to learn to adapt well, but also to analyse what previous knowledge I can use and implement in the next project. This makes project-based work a very interesting learning opportunity.
As a customer service representative, a satisfied customer is obviously my greatest satisfaction on the job. Helpfulness is therefore an essential trait. It's also important to be able to combine self-leadership and teamwork well. I'm responsible for my own client portfolio, but in order to best serve each client, you always need colleagues, and they need you, too.
Right now, I'm especially trying to expand my knowledge in depth. I want to gain as much knowledge as possible from this field and thus develop my hard and soft skills. But a big motivation for me to work on a project basis is also the variety, the opportunity to sample different fields. That's why I already told my project supervisor that I'd like to work on the same project for a maximum of one year and would like to explore a different field after that, in order to learn and grow more broadly. Bright Plus is a great employer in that respect, since my feedback is always appreciated and acted upon.
